1、Objective To explore the intervention of Cordycepssinensis on TGF-β1 of theprogressive glomerulosclerosis in rats,and discuss mechanism of action.Methods 36healthy 50-day-old Wistar rats were equally divided into three g
2、roups at random: normalcontrol group, progressive glomerularsclerosis group made by 5/6 nephrectomy andCordycepssinensis -treated progressive glomerularsclerosis group after the operation of5/6 nephrectomy for 4 weeks or
3、 9 weeks.Water were poured down into the stomach ofrats in the group of the progressive glomerularsclerosis and normal control every day.4weeks later six rats in every group would be killed .The same to the other 6 rats
4、of eachgroup 9 weeks after 5/6 nephrectomy. Urinary protein excretion and serum lipid wereassayed;RT-PCR was used to examine TGF- β1 in kidney. The expression of TGF- β1was analyzed by immuno-histochemistry. Results 1)4
5、weeks after operation, urinaryprotein excretion and TGF- β1 of cordycepssinensis-treated progressiveglomerularsclerosis group was substantially decreased (p<0.05) compared with theuntreated 5/6 nephrectomy grou
6、p. Serum total cholesterol and LDL were lower intreatment group than that in 5/6 nephrectomy without treatment (p<0.01).Immuno-histochemistry and RT-PCR revealed that the expression of TGF-β1 were alsosharply lo

8、ularsclerosis group. Theexpression of TGF- β1 (p<0.05) was reduced in the group of treatment. Conclusion Ourresearch indicate that Cordycepssinensis can reduceprotein ,serum,cholesterin and LDL.The expression of TGF- β1
